# Workflow

VIDA’s Smart KYC API helps organizations in verifying the user identity and safeguard against identity fraud by ensuring the authenticity and integrity of user information. Leveraging advanced AI and machine learning, VIDA enables contextual risk evaluations that go beyond traditional e-KYC. VIDA solution empowers partners to make informed, risk-based decisions with greater precision and confidence.

### Verification Modules in the API&#x20;

**Biometric Verification**

* **Image Quality Evaluation**: Assesses the clarity, lighting, and framing of submitted biometric images to ensure reliable processing.
* **Liveness Detection**: Confirms real-time presence to prevent presentation attacks using photos, videos, or masks.
* **Image Manipulation Check**: Identifies visual tampering such as morphed, swapped, or altered biometric inputs.
* **Biometric Face Validation**: Compares captured selfie data with previously verified identities or official records.

**Demographic Verification**

* **Demographic Confirmation**: Verifies key identity information such as full name, NIK, date of birth, and mother’s maiden name against official records.
* **Document Verification** *(optional add-on)*: Confirms document authenticity and liveness to detect spoofed or altered ID submissions.
* **Income Verification** *(optional add-on)*: Validates declared income using authoritative databases to support eligibility assessment.

### **Identity Assurance Level**

The API introduces Identity Assurance Levels (IAL) to help businesses align identity verification depth with use case sensitivity:

* **IAL2, with cert. level 2 and description**: Certificate with long term validity is issued and its utilization is for digital signature and digital identity purpose in VIDA system.
  * Only for full demographic and biometric assessment & Multistage Full Verification.
* **IAL2, with cert. level 2 and description**: Certificate with long term validity is issued and its utilization is bound to the certificate requesting client.
  * Only for partial verification check with VIDA.

### **Evaluation Threshold**

VIDA’s internal evaluation engine processes a combination of biometric, behavioral, and document-based signals to detect deepfakes, spoofing, and other forms of identity fraud. The system generates field-level assessments enabling more granular decision-making and supporting flexible, modular verification flows.

To guide these decisions, VIDA applies threshold bands that determine whether each verification input should be accepted, flagged for review, or rejected. These thresholds not only enable automated decisioning but also help trigger fallback flows when additional validation is needed. Threshold-based evaluation is particularly relevant in the ***manual-review*** flow, where correctable inputs are reassessed.
