# Document AI

VIDA Document AI tools, such as the Document Verification API and OCR API, are powerful tools for verifying document authenticity and extracting text accurately. This page provides detailed how-tos for capturing correct images to ensure effectiveness and includes a guide for implementing the API integration. Following these guidelines helps maximize the accuracy and reliability of document verification and OCR processes.

#### 📘 API Overview

VIDA's Document AI is available as two main components:

1. **OCR** – Extracts text from document images.
2. **Document Verification** – Verifies the authenticity of the document based on multiple criteria.

> ⚠️ **OCR v1 will be no longer supported for new update or improvement** \
> If you are using the older OCR 1.0 (from a different service), please refer to the OCR v1 page for legacy documentation. All new integrations is suggested to use OCR 2.0 & Document Verification API, which is part of the unified service.
