Biometric Verification

Biometric Verification is part of the VIDA Verify API. It confirms that a user is a real, live person and that their face matches their ID photo, so you can authenticate identity accurately and securely.

It combines two features:

	Image Liveness Verification	Image Face Match Verification
Question it answers	Is a live person present?	Do these two images show the same person?
Compares	Live selfie only	Selfie and ID photo
Protects against	Static images and spoofed attempts	Wrong person using a valid ID

Before you integrate: Make sure your images meet the requirements for the liveness check. See Image requirements.

Image Liveness Verification

Confirms that a live person is present during authentication, and tells a live individual apart from a static image.

• Analyzes subtle facial movements and real-time responses in a live selfie

• Uses anti-spoofing techniques to detect and prevent fraudulent attempts

• Protects the authenticity of the whole verification process

Image Face Match Verification

Checks whether two images belong to the same person, typically a selfie and an ID photo.

• Extracts facial features from both images using facial recognition algorithms and deep learning models

• Compares distinct characteristics, such as the position of the eyes, nose, and mouth

• Returns a confirmation when the images match

How they work together

Together, the two features give you a layered check: liveness proves the person is real, and face match proves they are the right person. This gives you high security and reliability for user authentication.
