# DirectSign API

## **Overview**

VIDA’s DirectSign API is a web and app-embedded signing solution designed for enterprise clients requiring secure and compliant digital signature capabilities.

The DirectSign API allows for:

* **Embedded Digital Signature Services**: Enables businesses to seamlessly integrate secure signing into their web or mobile applications.
* **Enhanced User Authentication**: Ensures the identity of users with multiple authentication layers, protecting against unauthorized access.
* **Long-Lived Certificate Issuance**: The system uses digital certificates that are valid over an extended period, enhancing trust and regulatory compliance.
* **Compliance with Regulatory Standards**: DirectSign API complies with industry regulations, ensuring that all digital signatures meet legal requirements.

### **Key values:**

1. **Seamless API Integration:**

The DirectSign API can be easily integrated into various client applications, enabling a smooth and automated signing process.
2. **Secure Authentication Process:**

The service supports various authentication methods (e.g., OTP, biometric) to ensure that the signer is correctly identified
3. **Webhook and Redirect Workflow:**

The API supports a redirect mechanism where users authenticate through a secure URL and are automatically returned to the client app after successful authentication.
4. **Real-Time Document Signing:**

Once authentication is completed, the document is signed in real-time, and the signed version becomes immediately available via API.
