# Telecom

### Telecom Platform - Use Cases

VIDA enables secure and seamless onboarding, verification, and account management for telecom subscribers. From KYC to service changes, each step is protected with identity verification, fraud prevention, and digital consent.

#### Subscriber Onboarding & KYC

* The user initiates the process of subscribing to the telecom service. They are prompted to provide personal information, including government-issued ID.
* [**OCR**](/identity-stack/verify/document-ai.md) helps in extracting the data from the submitted ID, simplifying the input process for the user.
* **VIDA's** [**KYC**](/identity-stack/verify/indonesia-verification.md) helps to verify the authenticity of both the provided details and the government-issued ID. This ensures that the user's identity is legitimate before granting access to the telecom services.

#### Liveness Detection & FaceMatch

* As part of the identity verification process, the user is prompted to take a selfie.
* [**Liveness Detection**](/identity-stack/verify/liveness.md) is employed to confirm that the user is physically present during the selfie capture, ensuring they are not using a static image or a pre-recorded video.
* [**FaceMatch**](/identity-stack/authentication/authentication-factors/biometric-device-selfie-id/integration-methods/face-match-api.md)  compares the selfie with the image on the user's government-issued ID. This confirms that the individual providing the ID is the same person registering for the service.

#### Account Management & Authentication

* Once the account is created, the user can manage their subscription for renewals, upgrades, or changes to their service plan.
* Whenever the user makes an update to their account, **Authentication** is triggered, adding an additional layer of security to ensure that only authorized individuals can make changes.
* For sensitive updates, such as changes to personal details, the user is required to verify their identity again using a selfie.
* [**Liveness Detection**](/identity-stack/verify/liveness.md) and **fraud prevention mechanisms** ensure that the person making the changes is the genuine subscriber.

#### Bill Payments

* Users can initiate telecom bill payments via the platform. During payment, **Authentication** is triggered to verify the user's identity and secure the transaction.
* For transparency and record-keeping, **VIDA’s** [**digital signature**](/identity-stack/sign/digital-signature.md) is applied to the payment receipts, providing proof of payment.

#### Renewal Process & Re-KYC

* When the user's telecom services are up for renewal, the system initiates a **Re-KYC process** to ensure that the user's current identity and documentation are up to date.
* The user submits updated documents, and their identity is verified through a selfie, ensuring that the subscriber renewing the service is the same individual who initially registered.

#### Consent for Service Changes

* If the user makes any changes to their telecom services, they are required to review the new service agreement.
* Once reviewed, the user provides consent by applying a **digital signature**.
* To further enhance the verification process, the [**e-Meterai**](/identity-stack/sign/e-meterai-stamp/api-integration/e-meterai-api.md) stamp can be applied, confirming the authenticity of the service agreement and ensuring that it is legally binding.
